At a web conference I attended this afternoon on The Growing Impact of Social Media, the panel of self proclaimed geeks spoke about how the latest trends in social media are enabling us to connect with and learn from our customers.

One of the panelists, John Ettorre, put up a single slide that said; “People tend to do business with those they know, like and trust.”

To me, as an entrepreneur, (and borderline technophobe) the idea of blogging and pod casting, RSS feeds and search engine optimization, You Tube, e-commerce and online communities can get a bit overwhelming.

Yet this simple bit of wisdom still rings true, perhaps now more than ever. And, with a little help, I’m learning that it’s now easier than ever.
